Symbolically, the vegetal style reminds us to respect nature and all forms of life therein.

All women are representations of the Triple-Goddess, no matter which face we choose to show to the world. We have a symbiotic relationship with the Goddess from the moment of our birth. The Triple Goddess imagery of maiden, mother, and crone has been present in many cultures, but was solidly honored by the Celtic peoples. The Goddesses worshipped by the Celts are said to belong to a race known as the Tuatha De Danann, or "people of the Goddess Dana." Celtic myth tells us the Tuatha De Danann employed their Magick to shield themselves from earthly strife and chose to reside in the spiritual realm, or Faery kingdoms of Ireland. "The Celtic Faery Shield" is a symbol of this very powerful, Goddess inspired Magick.
The Faery Shield is a symbol of the trinity of the Divine Feminine. It is made up of three interlaced Vesica Piscis which represent the "yoni" or female genitals. The gateless design prevents the entrance of negative energies. It is furthered strengthened by the Circle; the primary feminine symbol representing sacred space.
This symbol of the three yonis was called the triquetra by the Celts. The Celts honored the number three and its connection to the Goddess. We honor the Virgin Goddess for coming of age, making life changes, and new beginnings. We honor and petition the Mother Goddess when we wish to become pregnant, are ready to give birth, and to bless the newborn and all other children and grandchildren. We honor the Crone for our celebrations of menopause, transformation, deep wisdom, and the ending of relationships. Wear the Faery Shield to honor the Celtic woman within you: "she recognizes her spiritual links to all living things. Her true weapons are her wisdom and self-confidence. Her strength is in her willingness to learn and grow. Her inner peace comes from her sense of place in creation, and her recognition that she carries a spark of the Goddess within her at all times." Pewter |
Pewter is a malleable metal alloy, traditionally 85–99% tin, with the remainder consisting of copper and other metals. It has a low melting point and is very easy to cast in molds. It has been used since ancient times for everything from jewelry to table wear and was once called the "poor mans silver". Generally pewter has a grayish/silver semi-dull finish, though this varies depending on the metals combined with the tin and can be colored black or other shades or plated with gold or silver. All our pewter pieces are lead and nickel free. Pewter is generally hypo-allergenic and will not tarnish or react in most conditions. Note it can break or crack if flexed multiple times and rings cannot be re-sized, though interior ring springs or other adjusters might be used. |
