A subtle pentacle resembling a flower surrounded by vines, this lovely pewter Pentacle of the Goddess necklace is a beautiful piece to wear every day.
Original design by artist Chris Bennett
The Pentacle, or five-pointed star, is a powerful symbol used by many cultures throughout history. Anthropologists believe the earliest known use was in Ancient Mesopotamia, around 3500 BC. It was used as a symbol of truth by early Hebrew peoples, and studied extensively by the ancient Greek philosopher, Pythagoras. He was interested in its metaphysical qualities.
The depth and power of this symbol continues to be universally recognized today.
“Pythagoreans” called it the symbol of Perfection.
Celtic Druids called it the symbol of The Godhead. Early Pagans related it to the “fiveness” in nature. Early Christians related the five points of the pentacle to the five wounds of Christ.
Our Pentacle of the Goddess is reflective of the pentacle in Nature. The five-pointed star is a gateless design, which ensures protection against malevolent forces. It is also surrounded by vines and flowers, in a continuous design, adding to the protective, nurturing presence of the Goddess. In ritual Magick, the five points relate to the five elements in nature; earth, water, air, fire, and spirit! In Wicca practice, the pentacle points up symbolizing the triumph of spirit over matter.
Wear The Pentacle of the Goddess in honor of the Earth Mother. It's subtle design is often interpreted as a flower, which makes it a great, subtle piece to wear around others who may frown on pentacles!

Pewter |
Pewter is a malleable metal alloy, traditionally 85–99% tin, with the remainder consisting of copper and other metals. It has a low melting point and is very easy to cast in molds. It has been used since ancient times for everything from jewelry to table wear and was once called the "poor mans silver". Generally pewter has a grayish/silver semi-dull finish, though this varies depending on the metals combined with the tin and can be colored black or other shades or plated with gold or silver. All our pewter pieces are lead and nickel free. Pewter is generally hypo-allergenic and will not tarnish or react in most conditions. Note it can break or crack if flexed multiple times and rings cannot be re-sized, though interior ring springs or other adjusters might be used. |
