Reiki is an ancient Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by laying on hands and is based on the idea that an unseen life force energy flows through us and is what causes us to be alive, similar to accupuncture and accupressure. If your life force energy is low, then you are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, you are more capable of being happy and healthy.
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."
Natural stones are often used to help balance your energy during a Reiki healing session and amulets such as this can be worn to help maintain that balance before, during or after a healing session - or alone.

Amethyst is a violet variety of quartz ranging from pale to dark purple. The ancient Greeks and Romans wore amethyst and made drinking vessels of it in the belief that it would prevent intoxication. A glassy, translucent stone, Carnelian is an orange-colored variety of Chalcedony, a mineral of the Quartz family. Citrine is a variety of quartz whose color ranges from a pale yellow to brown. Natural citrines are rare; most commercial citrines are heat-treated amethyst. Citrine contains traces of Fe3+ and is rarely found naturally. The name is derived from Latin citrina which means "yellow". Citrine is one of the only stones that dissipates negative energy and never requires cleansing or clearing. It emits a warm energy that promotes optimism.
